WALLACE WILCOX, JR .
President/Chief Executive Officer
Wallace has been in the travel business full time since 1970. When he was younger, he spent his weekends loading luggage onto Queen City Trailway busses in Boone NC, where his Grandfather and father started the Travel Agency. Wallace’s Grandfather was the bus station Manager. He was also trained on sending Western Union Telex messages for the Bus Station.
After finishing school in 1975, he began to work on automating the Group Division's manual bookkeeping processes while handling all the deposits and payments from each passenger and booking and ticketing the groups.
In the late 70's, while our Group Division was booking United Airline charters from the southeastern US to Hawaii for our groups, he set the office up on United Airlines airline reservation system, Apollo.
Wallace worked with contracted computer programmers to move our automated group accounting system to an in-house system and later sold the software to Eastern Airlines and moved the office from Apollo to System One.
Wallace was on System One's Unison Board that merged System One with Amadeus, which we are still on today.
He has served on numerous travel boards and advisory boards over the years, both locally, across the U.S.A., and international.
Wallace’s personal goal has always been to let all who he meets to see his Christian faith shown through his speech, actions, and business leadership. To help all our employees to be the best they can be and show them how to make themselves the best travel agents and friends to their clients.
