Day by Day Travel Itinerary
  • Day 01 Thu . May . 08
    DEPARTURE
Today we depart Charlotte on our overnight international flight to Istanbul, with a connection in London.
  • Day 02 Fri . May . 09
    ARRIVAL ISTANBUL
Welcome to Turkey, a land of minarets, ancient civilizations, and modern bustling cities! Upon arrival we will be met and transferred to old town where we’ll enjoy a private ferry ride crossing the Bosphorus Straits visiting both Europe and Asia. Stops en route will allow for photos of the natural beauty. Afterwards, we check in to our hotel for two overnights.
  • Day 03 Sat . May . 10
    ISTANBUL
Our morning sightseeing begins with the most impressive building of old Constantinople (Istanbul) to include the domed basilica St. Sophia - considered as one of the world’s greatest architectural marvels and the fourth largest church in the world. This great edifice was the capital of the Christian church for nearly 1,000 years. Nearby is the ancient sports Hippodrome and then we visit the Blue Mosque with its six minarets. This afternoon we visit the famous Grand Covered Bazaar, a Mecca for shoppers with nearly 4,000 shops.
  • Day 04 Sun . May . 11
    ISTANBUL / CANAKKALE
Today we journey to Canakkale, a ferry crossing on the Dardanelles Strait, connecting Asia and Europe. Heading south we visit the ruins of Troas (Acts 16:6-10) where Paul, Silas and Timothy joined up with Luke, who chronicled the travels of Paul. Here on the western coast of Turkey, Paul heard the call of a man, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” (Acts 16:9). We share dinner and overnight in Canakkale.
  • Day 05 Mon . May . 12
    CANAKKALE / PERGAMON / KUSADASI
An early morning departure takes us to the ruins of Pergamum, the city that rivaled Athens and Alexandria as a cultural center in its day. Pergamum, one of the 7 churches in John’s vision (REV, 2) was surrounded by Pagan Culture but also was a center of healing. Its most celebrated citizen was the physician Galen, whose work and research provided the foundation for modern day medicine. We continue to Kusadasi for dinner and overnight at our hotel overlooking the Aegean Sea.
  • Day 06 Tue . May . 13
    KUSADASI / CRUISE / PATMOS
Early this morning we visit the House of the Virgin Mary, where it is believed she spent her later days. Our next stop is Ephesus, dominated by the great 24,000-seat amphitheater, cited in Acts as the place of Paul’s courageous witness (Acts 19:23-41). We will walk the ancient streets of Ephesus where Paul invested two years of his ministry. At noon we embark on our cruise and later in the day we stop at Patmos where St. John received his visions to author the last book of the New Testament.
  • Day 07 Wed . May . 14
    CRUISING / RHODES
We will dock this morning at the island of Rhodes - rich in history. Interestingly, prior to St. Paul’s visit in the AD 50’s, there was no evidence for Christianity on the island. We will spend the entire day on this beautiful island. There are optional tours offered to visit the Temple
  • Day 08 Thu . May . 15
    CRUISING / HERAKLION / SANTORINI
This morning we will wake up at Crete, the largest of the Greek islands. Paul visited here several times during his journeys (Acts 21:1). Paul’s letter to Titus was likely written while on Crete. An interesting stop is at the Museum of Heraklion. Then we will continue to Santorini, the famous colorful volcanic island where you may take a donkey ride or use the cable car up the steep hill to the village
  • Day 09 Fri . May . 16
    DISEMBARK CRUISE / ATHENS
This morning our ship will reach its final destination-Athens. Welcome to the capital of Greece! We will disembark the ship at the Lavrio port and meet our guide and start our bus tour to Athens to visit the Acropolis, Parthenon, Areogapus and Mars Hill (Acts 17) where the Apostle Paul delivered his well -known sermon. There will be time in the afternoon to explore the ancient area of Plaka, Athens’s oldest neighborhood. Two overnights in ancient Athens.
  • Day 10 Sat . May . 17
    CORINTH / MYCENAE / ATHENS
Today we’ll enjoy a scenic drive along the Peloponnesian Gulf and across the Corinthian Canal to Corinth, the chief commercial center of the New Testament. You will stand in the midst of the ruins of the church of Corinth and see the pillars, steps, and public worship place where Paul preached. The ruins of this important cultural center will enhance your understanding of I &II Corinthians as we walk along the stone path the Apostle Paul walked. We return to Athens for dinner and our final overnight.
  • Day 11 Sun . May . 18
    DEPARTURE
Today we will say goodbye to Greece to fly home with unforgettable memories.
