Airlines hike domestic airfares for the first time this year
Last year, after a two-year lull, airlines made 22 attempts to increase fares, nine of them successful. 2012 might be different as Delta Air Lines, United, Continental, American Airlines, US Airways, Southwest, Air Tran, and Frontier have made their first effort to increase fares by as much as .00 round trip.
